Toric Lens for Astigmatism
For patients who have low to moderate amounts of astigmatism and wish to have improved unaided distance vision, the Toric IOL is ideal. This IOL provides excellent distance vision with reduced dependency on glasses or contacts. Patients who have had corneal transplants or who have keratoconus are also candidates for this lens implant. Patients who choose this option may require distance glasses and will require glasses for up-close and computer work.
This lens option is designed for those patients who wish to altogether reduce their need for glasses after cataract surgery. This lens provides good distance, intermediate, and up-close vision with little to no dependence on glasses or contacts. Patients who have healthy eyes, stable retinal disease, and those who have had refractive surgery may also be candidates for this type of lens. At your consultation appointment with Dr. Frank W. Bowden, III, or Dr. Sarah Darbandi you will be advised what your best option is and together you can decide what is best for you and your lifestyle.
