Raindrop with LASIK

Combining the Raindrop® Near Vision Inlay with LASIK

If you are experiencing the two different vision conditions of farsightedness (a refractive error causing near objects to be blurry) and presbyopia (a lens flexibility issue causing the need for reading glasses), you may benefit from the combination of LASIK with the Raindrop Near Vision Inlay.

How LASIK and the Raindrop Inlay Work Together

In order to correct both vision conditions, Dr. Frank W. Bowden, III, can perform a different procedure on each eye:

  • LASIK is performed on the dominant eye to correct the refractive error by using a laser to reshape the cornea so light lands directly on the retina for clear vision.
  • The Raindrop inlay is placed in your non-dominant eye to provide clear up-close vision. The inlay does not alter the lens but rather controls how light enters the eye.
