What Symptoms Are You Experiencing?

Blurry Vision

Do you suffer from constant blurry vision? People experiencing sudden blurry vision may find it difficult to see clearly or manage their usual tasks. Although not all instances are a cause for concern, some may require medical treatment. The answer to why you have blurry vision is best answered by your eye care professional, who can offer diagnosis and prompt treatment so that your vision does not get worse. Some causes of blurry vision include, nearsightedness, astigmatism, dry eyes, computer vision syndrome, retina issues (detachments, tears) farsightedness and presbyopia.

Dry Eyes

Dry eye is a condition that occurs when the eyes do not produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly, and it can be caused by a variety of factors including age, medications, certain medical conditions, and environmental factors. If you are suffering from dry eyes your best option is to schedule a consultation. Dry eyes can be extremely frustrating and diagnosis of what kind of dry eye you have needs to be done by a professional in order to create a treatment protocol. Bowden Eye Associates is nationally recognized for their dry eye treatment programs.

Eyelid Issues

Sagging or drooping eyelids can not only be visually unattractive but they can also obstruct vision. Eye doctors that specialize in eyelid problems are known as oculoplastic eye surgeons. Eyelid issues can include, blepharitis, styes, chalazion, meibomianitis or a tear duct obstruction. if you feel that your eyelids are not functioning properly or you are not seeing because of this please feel free to contact us immediately for an appointment.

Night Driving Problems

Many people suffer from night driving problems or halos coming off the headlights. Between the glare of oncoming headlights and the deep shadows, upcoming curves and obstacles are harder to notice. There could be a variety of issues causing this to happen and might even be the onset of cataracts. If night driving is a problem it is better for you to get your vision checked out with an eye exam at Bowden Eye Associates. There are variety of solutions and aids are available for helping drivers with mild to moderate night driving difficulties.

Halos

It’s common for people to report seeing halos around lighting, especially at night. Sometimes, this isn’t a cause for any concern as it’s the eye’s response to bright lights. Although there is no direct treatment for halos this can be corrected when another issue is fixed, such as cataracts.

Astigmatism

Astigmatism gives you sometimes clear vision and sometimes blurry vision at all distances. Astigmatism results from imperfections in the curvature of your eyeball. When you have astigmatism, the front surface of the eye or the lens, inside the eye, is curved differently in one direction than the other.

Distance Vision Problems

Not being able to see in the distance is usually related to myopia also known as nearsightedness. With near sightedness objects up close appear clear and in focus but distant objects are blurry and hazy. Nearsightedness is a common eye focusing disorder. It has been on the rise for several decades. It is estimated that by 2050, nearly half the people in the world will have nearsightedness.

Trouble Reading

This may also be known to many as reading vision. Around age 40 our eyes go through a change called presbyopia. Presbyopia affects the lens of the eye. The lens focuses light that enters the eye on the retina, or back of the eye. Contact our office for an appointment to check out what might be going on with your aging eyes. Also referred to as DLS or dysfunctional lens syndrome.
