Dr. Amanda Kovacs
Dr. Amanda Kovacs is a Florida native and was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She attended Florida State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. After her undergraduate training, she studied Optometry at Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry where she received her Doctorate of Optometry degree. During her externship rotations, Dr. Kovacs gained extensive experience in primary care, geriatrics, surgical co-management, contact lenses, and pediatric care. She was also selected to be part of an academic program during her time at NSU, which involved completion of a more rigorous curriculum of additional research, community service, and scholarship. Dr. Kovacs graduated from NSUCO with honors and received the Volk Award for Excellence in Ocular Disease Care upon graduation.
Her professional interests include ocular disease management and contact lenses. Dr. Kovacs is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Florida Optometric Association, and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
In her spare time she enjoys going to the beach, working out, and spending time with friends and family.
